Play Ball Birthday Boy!!

Not much happening at the house this week, so lets turn to baseball, sports fans!
Today is Tatem's birthday, and also the Tee Ball Home opener classic! Tatem was very excited and proud to wear his real baseball uniform for the first time. All the teams from tee ball (teams grouped by age 6-8), little league, and up through high school participated in a parade along the baselines at the high school field and then a one inning "game" for each team. Tatem is on the Reds and they played the Indians. Everyone got a turn at bat and both teams won.

Tatem was like one of those kids on funniest home videos because when he hit the ball, he ran after it, bat in hand, trying to field his own grounder. The coach and Dad were both yelling for him to drop the bat and run to first. He finally got there, loving every minute of it. Bless his heart, he's never played before and we've only had one practice. He'll learn. You sure can tell which boys have older brothers. There's one kid who plays like he is 14! But most of the kids are just like Tatem and just learning how to swing, run and field.

Notice the glove? That's right, he's a lefty.Posted by Hello
